AMJ Campbell – FGI and our employees have a philosophy and passion for “giving back” to the communities in which we live. In addition to supporting and sponsoring many local charity, sports and community groups FGI participates in several national charities:


AMJ Campbell has been in existence since 1934. In 1977 the entrepreneurial spirit of local ownership and total accountability began by engaging managers with vested financial interests in the businesses they managed. This has evolved to AMJ Campbell being the most successful and largest moving organization in the country.

In 1980 a young entrepreneur, Denis Frappier, joined AMJ Campbell as Operations Manager AMJ Campbell Calgary, AB.  Denis’ capabilities and passion for advancement quickly rose to the top. He served in management roles in Ft. McMurray, AB and Montreal, QC, finally getting his break at becoming a branch owner in 1985 incorporating the Frappier Group Inc. (FGI). During the course of the next several years, Denis engaged family members and other entrepreneurial individuals with business and/or moving experience, quickly expanding AMJ locations. Today FGI is the largest franchise group within the AMJ Campbell Network, operating AMJ Campbell Branches in Toronto, ON – Peterborough, ON – Kingston, ON – Ottawa. In addition FGI operates AMJ Campbell Self-Storage Facilities in Barrie, ON, Ottawa, ON, Petawawa, ON and 2 Locations in North Bay, ON. FGI’s AMJ Campbell Operating Divisions include:

Historically as AMJ Campbell – FGI we operated under several Quality Initiatives (Atlas Van Lines—AMJ Campbell—FGI) which drove our business processes.  We realize the importance and benefits of consolidating these initiatives under “One” control system.

Superior Moving Standards (SMS)

is an industry specific Quality System which mirrors the ISO Service Series business processes. As a control system, it is moving industry specific designed to involve all management and employees in making all business processes recordable for the distinct purpose of benchmarking, remedial action and continual improvement for the future. SMS utilizes 17 main Business Components as benchmarks and key performance indicators on which to evaluate our business operations and ensure quality service delivery on each and every move. As with ISO, these business processes are monitored, audited and evaluated by an independent party every two years.

We use new green technologies and policies with deliberation; it is now part of our quality initiative. We pride ourselves at being the most responsible corporate citizen we can be. AMJ Campbell - FGI has implemented the following green initiatives as part of our ongoing “Green” evolution:

  • Electronic commerce – Web/Intranet – internal and customer use
  • On-board communication systems for Van Operators and Crew
  • Where possible, the company purchases packing material made only from recycled fibres
  • We recycle rigorously every possible piece of paper, corrugated cardboard, stretch wrap, plastic, steel, aluminum, iron and wood.
  • We endeavour to ensure that recycled materials are directed and end up at Recycle Facilities rather than landfills
  • Strict “No-Idling” Policy for all vehicles – absolute compliance to any and all government guidelines and/or law
  • GPS – Traffic & Route Optimization navigation tools
  • Progressive Fleet Maintenance Program – Managed by Simply Compliance’s SnapShot Software Program
  • Use of Energy Management Systems in all buildings to decrease energy usage 
  • With the assistance of technology, electronic media and ongoing systems development, we are able to greatly reduce the amount of paper in client and employee files
    Where appropriate, we encourage employees to use two sided printing on documents
  • Progressive Equipment Purchase Programs to ensure we acquire fuel-efficient vehicles
  • Where possible, the use of ultra-low diesel fuel
  • We purchase “green” for office and general supplies
  • We utilize composite materials for packing containers, making them reusable
  • We remind all to consider the environment before printing of e-mails and attachments
  • We favour suppliers who share our “Green” philosophy
  • We provide reused cartons to charitable organizations and other community groups
